#AskAboutAsthma 2024: Empowering Children and Young People to Live Their Best Lives

The annual #AskAboutAsthma campaign is back for its eighth year, running from 9-15 September 2024. Led by the NHS England – London Babies, Children and Young People programme, this year's campaign focuses on helping children and young people with asthma to live their best lives.

This Year's Theme

The 2024 campaign emphasises that asthma should not limit children and young people's lives in any way. With good asthma control, they can live symptom-free and fully participate in all areas of their lives – at home, school/college, and in the community.

The Four Key Asks

The campaign highlights four simple yet crucial steps that can make a significant difference in asthma management:

  1. Get an asthma action plan in place
  2. Understand how to use inhalers correctly
  3. Schedule an asthma review – every year and after every attack
  4. Consider air quality and its impact on lung health

Digital Health Passport: Your Asthma Management Companion

At Tiny Medical Apps, we're proud that our Digital Health Passport (DHP) app continues to play a crucial role in the #AskAboutAsthma campaign. The DHP is a self-management app co-designed with the NHS to empower young people in taking control of their health.

Key features of the DHP for asthma management include:

  • Storing and sharing your asthma action plan
  • Instructional videos for correct inhaler technique
  • Symptom tracking and medication reminders
  • Air quality alerts and information

By putting these tools at users' fingertips, the DHP helps make asthma care smarter and more convenient, supporting young people to live their best lives.
